The first step in getting started is set up an appointment. At your initial appointment in our Holmdel, NJ office you will receive a complete dental examination, including doing any necessary X-rays or other diagnostic studies and we will review your medical and dental histories. Dr. Lichtenstein’s dental practice even takes a panoramic X-ray that goes around your head without any film going inside your mouth at all! Often we will take digital photographs to help assess the condition of your mouth and teeth. Any questions you may have about sedation dentistry can be discussed at this appointment.
A follow-up consultation will be scheduled for us to review our findings with you, and a treatment plan will be prepared for you, taking into account any personal or special needs. Fees and payment options will be discussed in advance. Upon acceptance of the dental treatment plan, appointments will be scheduled for beginning your dental treatment.
Does Dr. Lichtenstein’s office accept dental insurance?
Dental insurance is accepted, although our office does not participate directly with any insurance carriers. We accept assigned benefits from carriers who will send payment directly to our office. Or, for patients with insurance plans where benefits are not assigned, we will fill out and complete claim forms and file them directly with the insurance company. The patient or guardian will be responsible for the balance of any payments not covered by the insurance company.

A native to New Jersey, Dr. Lichtenstein graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry where he received the Williams Pitt Mason Award for Outstanding Achievement. Dr. Lichtenstein graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, School of Dentistry, and then completed the General Practice Residency program at Middlesex General Hospital (Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center). ). He received his MBA from SUNY – The State University of New York.
